Tema Senior High School marked a significant milestone in its history with the formal inauguration of its newly reconstituted Board of Governors on May 22, 2025. The ceremony, held under the theme "Nil Nisi Optima" (Only the Best), took place in the school's main auditorium and was attended by distinguished guests from the education sector, traditional authorities, and the school community.
The event commenced with a solemn procession of the incoming board members, accompanied by a rendition of the school anthem. Headmistress Mrs. Lucy O. Naih delivered the welcome address, emphasising the critical role of the Board in shaping the school's future direction and maintaining its academic excellence.
"This inauguration marks not just a change of leadership, but a renewal of our collective commitment to uphold the values and vision that have made TEMASCHO a beacon of quality education in Ghana," said Mrs. Naih.
Proceedings included the formal dissolution of the outgoing Board by the Regional Director of Education, the swearing-in of the new Board members by Hon. Justice Owusu, an address by outgoing Board Chairman Anch. Kow Kalraba Yamoah, and an acceptance speech by new Board Chairman Anch. Ken Thompson. The Regional Director charged the new 15-member Board — drawn from the Ministry of Education, the Tema Traditional Council, the Tema Secondary School Old Students Association (TOSA), the PTA, teaching staff, and industry leaders — to focus on infrastructure development, staff welfare, and maintaining the school's consistent WASSCE performance.
